Cabinda’s countryside is beautiful with few inhabitants. The province capital Cabinda also turned out to be quite relaxed and modern. A good tarmac road leads all the way through this Angolan enclave.

The police was extremely friendly throughout Cabinda.

Crossing from Congo was easy on the Congolese side and then highly modern on the Angolan one. We had heard about tourists and especially overland trucks not being allowed in due to supposed security threats but had no problems at all.

We tried to buy car insurance at the border as the brown card is only valid down to Congo. Unfortunately they could only issue us with 15 days for a horrendous price so we decided to skip on that matter.

Very welcoming people, especially the boss Futi is very kind and a joy to talk to, camping inside their grounds with good toilets but no showers, water available
